The following intercessions are provided for your use to support the development of vocations to the priesthood and consecrated life in our diocese. They are keyed to the liturgical calendar. Please consider including them in your mass intentions.

First Sunday of Advent – December 3, 2023
That the hearts and minds of those called to serve the Lord as priests and religious brothers and sisters will be enriched in Christ and prayerfully graced with abundant spiritual gifts to serve Him, we pray to the Lord.

Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary––December 8, 2023
That men and women will accept how God is calling them to serve as Mary responded to the angel Gabriel, we pray to the Lord.

Second Sunday of Advent -- December 10, 2023
That those chosen by Christ to "prepare the way of the Lord" as priests or religious brothers or sisters will answer His call, we pray to the Lord.

Third Sunday of Advent -- December 17, 2023
For a deeper trust and openness to the Holy Spirit in people discerning a call to serve Christ through the priesthood or in consecrated life, we pray to the Lord.

Fourth Sunday of Advent -- December 24, 2023
For men called by the Lord to be priests and consecrated religious, that the peace of Christ will guide their hearts and minds as they proclaim the good news of salvation to His people, we pray to the Lord.

Christmas -- December 25, 2023
That, as Joseph and Mary welcomed the gift of the Child Jesus, all mothers and fathers will prayerfully nurture their children’s vocations in Christ and especially welcome His call for priests, brothers, and sisters, we pray to the Lord.

Feast of the Holy Family – Sunday, December 31, 2023
That Catholic mothers and fathers will help their children grow strong in their faith, filled with the wisdom of God, and encourage openness to vocations to the priesthood and consecrated life, we pray to the Lord.

Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God – Monday, January 1, 2024
That, through our Blessed Mother’s intercession, all those called to holiness as priests and religious brothers and sisters will find joy and fulfillment in their vocations, we pray to the Lord.

The Epiphany -- January 7, 2024
That our young people will be open to their unique vocation through prayer and will adore Christ the King by their faithfulness to His call, we pray to the Lord.

The Baptism of the Lord -- January 8, 2024
That all those initiated by baptism to be followers of Christ may discern and live out the vocation to which Christ is calling them, we pray to the Lord.

Second Sunday in Ordinary Time -- January 14, 2024
That every Catholic will actively seek out their calling in Christ and work to strengthen his kingdom, especially those chosen to lead as priests or consecrated brothers or sisters, we pray to the Lord.

Third Sunday in Ordinary Time -- January 21, 2024
For an increase in fishers of men and for a deeper gratitude for the priests and religious now serving our diocese, we pray to the Lord.

Fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time – January 28, 2024- World Day for Consecrated Life – February 2nd
For those consecrated to God by the vows of chastity, poverty, and obedience, that they may seek to live their baptismal promises more intensely and have the grace to persevere in their commitment to the Lord, we pray to the Lord.

Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time -- February 4, 2024
That all those discerning or pursuing a vocation to the priesthood or consecrated life will find encouragement through our prayers and sacrifices on their behalf, we pray to the Lord.

Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time -- February 11, 2024 - World Marriage Day
That the Holy Spirit will be the guiding force in every marriage and lead spouses to protect and pray for each other every day, we pray to the Lord.

First Sunday of Lent -- February 18, 2024
That prayer, penance and almsgiving will enable more men and women to follow the Holy Spirit as He leads them to discover their vocations in Christ, we pray to the Lord.

Second Sunday of Lent – February 25, 2024
That those the Lord is calling to be a priest or consecrated brother or sister will listen to Him, and proclaim His name, we pray to the Lord.

Third Sunday of Lent -- March 3, 2024
For those considering a call to the priesthood or consecrated life, that they will answer the call and proclaim Christ crucified, we pray to the Lord.

Fourth Sunday of Lent – March 10, 2024
That we may have faithful priests and consecrated brothers and sisters to guide us just as Jesus was the light that came into the world, we pray to the Lord.
Fifth Sunday of Lent – March 17, 2024
For all those being called to the priesthood and consecrated life, that they may deepen their faith in Christ who calls them to glorify God in a profoundly personal way through their vocations, we pray to the Lord.

Palm Sunday of the Lord's Passion – March 24, 2024
For the faithful response of all men and women called to follow Christ and His passion through a vocation to the priesthood or consecrated life, we pray to the Lord.

Easter Sunday – March 31, 2024
That more men and women will joyfully answer the call of the Lord to proclaim His life, death and resurrection as priests and religious brothers and sisters, we pray to the Lord.

Second Sunday of Easter (Divine Mercy Sunday) -- April 7, 2024 - Uplift your Priest starts April 8th
For all our priests whom God has sent in the name of Jesus to serve the people, that they are blessed with continued faithfulness to Him and inspire many more to consider a vocation to the priesthood, we pray to the Lord.

Third Sunday of Easter -- April 14, 2024
For an increased awareness among our young people of the closeness of the Lord while they discern their vocation, we pray to the Lord.

Fourth Sunday of Easter -- April 21, 2024 - World Day of Prayer for Vocations
For an increase in vocations to the priesthood and consecrated life for our Church and that God will raise up good shepherds in our midst, we pray to the Lord.

Fifth Sunday of Easter – April 28, 2024 – Religious Brothers Day – May 1st
That men boldly and courageously accept Jesus’ call to religious life as a brother, we pray to the Lord.

Sixth Sunday of Easter -- May 5, 2024
For a deeper faith, hope, and love among all, especially those He is calling to serve as a priest or religious sister, we pray to the Lord.

Seventh Sunday of Easter -- May 12, 2024
That, seated at the right hand of His Father in heaven, the Lord will share His wisdom with those discerning their vocation and open their eyes and hearts in faithfulness, we pray to the Lord.

Pentecost Sunday – May 19, 2024
For an increased devotion to the Holy Spirit among our young people, as He leads them in their prayerful discernment to discover their vocation in Christ, we pray to the Lord.

The Most Holy Trinity – May 26, 2024
That the mystery of the love of the Blessed Trinity will strengthen many men and women to respond to that love as priests and religious brothers and sisters, we pray to the Lord.

The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ – June 2, 2024 - World Priest Day - June 7th
That all Catholics will adore the great gift of the Holy Eucharist given to them by Jesus Christ through the hands of His priests and that those chosen as priests will inspire many more to follow Him, we pray to the Lord.

That those called to serve the Lord and His people as priests will be blessed with holy zeal, we pray to the Lord.

Tenth Sunday in Ordinary Time -- June 9, 2024
For more families to pray for their children's vocations and nurture environments that lead to fruitful discernment, we pray to the Lord.

Eleventh Sunday in Ordinary Time -- June 16, 2024
That with dedicated spirits, we ask the Lord of the Harvest to provide an abundance of vocations to the priesthood and consecrated life, we pray to the Lord.

Twelfth Sunday in Ordinary Time – June 23, 2024
That we continue to have priests and consecrated religious to teach us that the Lord made the ultimate sacrifice for us, we pray to the Lord.

Nativity of Saint John the Baptist—June 24, 2024
That, in the spirit of John the Baptist, we may have priests and consecrated religious to lead us to the Lord, we pray to the Lord.

Thirteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time – June 30, 2024
That the call to serve Christ and His Church in the priesthood and consecrated life will fall on the rich soil of hearts prepared by prayer, hard work, and generous service to others, we pray to the Lord.

Fourteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time – July 7, 2024
That all men and women will answer the Lord with humble obedience when they are called to serve Him and His people as priests and religious brothers and sisters, we pray to the Lord.

Fifteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time -- July 14, 2024
For all those called to priesthood and consecrated life that they will trust in Him and His choice of them, we pray to the Lord.

Sixteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time -- July 21, 2024
That with dedicated spirits, we ask the Lord to provide an abundance of vocations to the priesthood and consecrated life to help lead His flock, we pray to the Lord.

Seventeenth Sunday in Ordinary Time -- July 28, 2024
For a greater appreciation of the richness of every vocation to love Christ and that more men and women will respond to His invitation to follow Him as priests and consecrated religious, we pray to the Lord.
Eighteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time – August 4, 2024
That men and women share this heavenly bread and discern how God is calling them to serve others, we pray to the Lord.

Nineteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time -- August 11, 2024
For the faith to accept the healing power of Jesus, who wants more men and women to follow Him as priests, sisters, and brothers, we pray to the Lord.

Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary - August 15, 2024
That, guided by the example of Mary, men and women will accept the call of the Lord to the priesthood and consecrated life, we pray to the Lord.

Twentieth Sunday in Ordinary Time -- August 18, 2024
That all men and women hear God’s plan for their lives and answer the call with thanks in their hearts, we pray to the Lord.

Twenty-first Sunday in Ordinary Time -- August 25, 2024
For all those chosen to take up their cross in union with Christ as a priest or consecrated religious so that others might have eternal life, we pray to the Lord.

Twenty-second Sunday in Ordinary Time – September 1, 2024
That there will be an abundance of laborers chosen by the Lord to serve as priests and religious brothers and sisters in this vineyard, we pray to the Lord.

Twenty-third Sunday in Ordinary Time -- September 8, 2024
That none of us will be a hindrance to those men called to take up their cross and follow Jesus as priests, we pray to the Lord.

Twenty-fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time -- September 15, 2024
For the ability to discern God’s will with clarity and respond actively, especially for those contemplating a calling to the priesthood or consecrated life, we pray to the Lord.

Twenty-fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time -- September 22, 2024
That all men and women be receptive to the divine call to serve Him as priests, brothers, or sisters, we pray to the Lord.

Twenty-sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time -- September 29, 2024 – Priesthood Sunday
For all those men who bravely answered God’s calling to the priesthood and choose to follow Him fervently every day, we pray to the Lord.

Twenty-seventh Sunday in Ordinary Time -- October 6, 2024
That all those called to follow the Lord as priests, brothers, and sisters will recognize the gift of their call and glorify Him faithfully, we pray to the Lord.

Twenty-eighth Sunday in Ordinary Time -- October 13, 2024 – Deacon Sunday
That the Church will be continuously blessed with good and faithful servants following Christ as deacons, we pray to the Lord.

That we may have ample priests and consecrated religious to lead us to the heavenly banquet, we pray to the Lord.

Thirty-first Sunday in Ordinary Time—November 3, 2024 - National Vocation Awareness Week
That men and women will be encouraged to love God and their neighbor and follow Him generously when chosen to serve others as a priest or religious sister, we pray to the Lord.

Thirty-second Sunday in Ordinary Time – November 10, 2024
That those called to serve the Lord and His people as priests, brothers, and sisters will be blessed with holy zeal in their prayers and apostolates, we pray to the Lord.

Thirty-third Sunday in Ordinary Time -- November 17, 2024 - World Day of Cloistered Life - November 21
That those chosen to follow Christ as a cloistered monk or nun will respond with humble readiness, we pray to the Lord.

Solemnity of Christ the King -- November 24, 2024
For a deepening understanding among those discerning their vocation that the One who calls them is Jesus Christ the King, we pray to the Lord.
