The Respect Life Office serves the Church of Worcester by striving to build a culture of life, and upholding and promoting the dignity of human life from the moment of conception to natural death. We work to implement the guidelines of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Pastoral Plan for Pro-Life Activities, in which we are called upon as Church, with our resources, our people, our services and institutions, to pursue the cause of life with renewed energy and commitment. Through prayer, education, pastoral care, and public policy advocacy, we work to proclaim the Gospel of Life in our midst throughout all ages and stages of life. By working together diligently, prayerfully, and courageously in the Lord’s service, the culture of death that surrounds us today will one day be replaced with a culture of life.

This year's Respect Life Program theme is "Radical Solidarity", reminding us that we are called to accompany those who are most vulnerable with the love of Christ, particularly those at life's beginning and at life's end.
The print materials from this year's Respect Life Program were mailed to all parishes, Catholic schools, and college campus ministries in the Diocese of Worcester in early September. All of the materials and additional resources can be found at the USCCB's dedicated webpage: www.respectlife.org.
Some things your parish can do to celebrate
the Respect Life theme all year long:
- Hang the POSTER on a bulletin board or other suitable place to call attention to this year's theme.
- Duplicate the REFLECTION FLYER and make it available to visitors on the parish website to provide people an opportunity to reflect on what "radical solidarity" means and to consider how God may be calling them to build a culture of life.
- Utilize the theme GRAPHICS in bulletins, on parish websites, and in social media posts.
- Promote the special events and opportunities taking place around the diocese throughout the year so that many have the chance to take part. To learn more about what's happening, consult your parish bulletin (announcements are sent through the weekly Diocesan Dispatch), consult the calendar at www.worcesterdiocese.org, and subscribe to the Respect Life Office's email list if you are not already receiving our emails (to subscribe, send an email to aledoux@worcesterdiocese.org and ask to be added to the list).
If your parish is planning particular pro-life events or devotions please send brief details to aledoux@worcesterdiocese.org so we can post to our calendar page.
The National Catholic Bioethics Center's Jozef Zalot interviews
diocesan pro-life leaders Allison LeDoux(Worcester, MA) and Fr. Peter Ascik (Charlotte, NC) to discuss the opportunities provided by, and the challenges facing, the Catholic Church in the post-Dobbs world. They also address the Church’s ongoing efforts to promote the culture of life in the United States.
