What is the Pastoral Plan for Pro-Life Activities?
The Pastoral Plan for Pro-Life Activities is the foundational document of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops providing guidelines for carrying out the Church's fundamental pro-life mission in dioceses throughout the country, in our parishes, schools, and organizations. The Pastoral Plan helps us to live out our call to build a Culture of Life that reverences the dignity of the human person and the sacredness of human life from conception to natural death.
The Pastoral Plan contains four major "pillars" that the U.S. Bishops have set forth as elements necessary for authentic Catholic pro-life efforts in dioceses throughout the country.
The four pillars are:
PRAYER AND WORSHIP
EDUCATION AND PUBLIC INFORMATION
PASTORAL CARE
PUBLIC POLICY ADVOCACY
